Since the 1990s, Wendy and Ed have worked together on multiple complex and high-profile restructurings including the liquidation and restructuring of international airlines, hotels, and department store.

Wendy Silverstein
Co-founder & Managing Partner

Wendy Silverstein, cofounder of Silver Eagle, has over 30 years of broad real estate experience in debt and equity capital markets (public and private), debt restructuring, acquisitions and dispositions. Ms. Silverstein’s career began in the mid-1980’s at Citibank in leveraged finance. In 1990, she moved into real estate where she developed expertise in bankruptcy and distressed debt by leading billions of dollars of some of the most complex, high-profile workouts and corporate restructurings of that era. After leaving Citibank, Ms. Silverstein joined Vornado Realty Trust(VNO), where she was instrumental in VNO’s growth over her 17-year tenure as an EVP, Head of Capital Markets, and Co-Head of Acquisitions. Subsequent to her experience at Vornado, Ms. Silverstein was recruited to be CEO of NYRT, a publicly traded REIT, where she worked to maximize value for shareholders by liquidating its assets. Ms. Silverstein then served as the Chief Investment Officer of a real estate private equity fund sponsored by WeWork.

Complimentary to her extensive real estate experience, Ms. Silverstein has been an operating executive with various public and private operating companies in the hospitality, airline, retail, real estate, and financial industries. Ms. Silverstein has served as a director on the boards of The US Airways Shuttle, Americold Realty Trust, Toys R Us, NYRT, Equinox Fitness, LNR and currently serves on the boards of Alexander’s, Inc. and TRTX MortgageREIT.

Ms. Silverstein earned her B.S. in Economics, Magna Cum Laude and a M.B.A with Distinction from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and is also a C.P.A. As a devoted mentor to many women, Ms. Silverstein proudly serves as a board member and Treasurer of Beit Ruth, a non-profit educational and therapeutic residence in Israel serving vulnerable and at-risk teenage girls.

Ed Adler
Co-founder & Managing Partner

Ed Adler, co-founder of Silver Eagle Advisory Group, has over 30 years of experience investing in, structuring/restructuring debt instruments including commercial real estate loans, CMBS, CLOs/CDOs, repurchase agreements, corporate real estate facilities, non-performing loan portfolios (NPLs), and distressed debt across U.S and international markets. Prior to Silver Eagle, Mr. Adler ran multi-billion-dollar commercial real estate debt platforms at major Wall Street institutions in the US and Asia including Citigroup and Deutsche Bank and most recently founded Bentall GreenOak’s US debt platform. Over the past 4 credit cycles, Mr. Adler has led multiple teams and managed all elements of commercial real estate finance encompassing origination of new business, loan negotiation and structuring, loan syndications, risk management and regulatory compliance. Mr. Adler is widely respected as an industry expert, and is a frequent speaker and press resource.

Mr. Adler graduated with honors from Union College with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering and holds an M.B.A. from Columbia Business School. He is currently an adjunct professor at Columbia University’s Master’s in Real EstateDevelopment Program and also sits on the Advisory Board of Academy Securities.

Mr. Adler serves on the board of Spark Youth NYC (formerly the Catalog for Giving), which provides financial and operational support to fifteen of the best emerging youth-development programs in NYC. He is also a board member of Teaching Matters, an organization that invests in teachers and education leaders so students from systematically marginalized communities have the same access to excellent teaching as students in affluent communities.

Zach Drobner
Vice President

Zach Drobner joined Silver Eagle as a Vice President in 2020 and is responsible for carrying out Silver Eagle’s restructuring and workout strategies through performing in-depth analysis of due diligence and facilitating negotiations with counterparties.

Prior to joining Silver Eagle, Zach was an associate on the acquisitions and investments team at ARK Capital Advisors, the investment management arm of WeWork. Zach has also worked at Brookfield Property Partners and Vornado Realty Trust in the acquisitions and capital markets capacities. Over the course of his career, Zach has participated in the completion of over $6 billion in transactions.  

Zach received a B.A. in Economics cum laude from Dartmouth College.

Laurelle Cheng
Vice President

Laurelle Cheng joined Silver Eagle as a Vice President in 2020 and is responsible for carrying out Silver Eagle’s restructuring and workout strategies through performing in-depth analyses of due diligence and facilitating negotiations with counterparties.

Prior to joining Silver Eagle, Laurelle served as a Vice President in Deutsche Bank’s Commercial Real Estate group where she focused on the origination and underwriting of CMBS and balance sheet loans secured by all property types across the United States. Laurelle facilitated the securitization / syndication of senior mortgage / subordinate debt, participating in over $15 billion of transaction volume over her 5-year tenure. In addition, Laurelle joined the CMBS primary trading desk where she was actively involved in the pricing and structuring of single-asset single-borrower and conduit loans and securitizations, which jumpstarted the CMBS primary issuance market amidst the COVID-19 pandemic.

Laurelle holds a B.A. in International Relations and Economics from Wellesley College.
